Waldo Alvarado, a Fulbright Scholar, is a bi-cultural, bi-lingual counselor with a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and a professional degree in Psychology from his native country of El Salvador. Currently working on his Secondary Counseling Certification at Kutztown University.
Mr. Alvarado has extensive training and experience in cognitive-behavioral and Solution-focused psychotherapy. In addition, he has participated in a 2 year training program on structural family therapy and marital and divorce counseling through the Philadelphia Child and Family Therapy Training Center, Inc. He also has the required training in Divorce and Custody Mediation through Lancaster Mediation Training Center. More recently, Mr. Alvarado completed his certification to join the Student Assistance Program team At Northwest Middle School.
Mr. Alvarado enjoys working with adolescents and their families. He has worked in the Mental health field for over ten years in a local private agency. He also has over ten years of teaching experience in the secondary and university levels in his native country.
